Title: Open access data and science initiatives for astro- and particle physics in Switzerland

Abstract: Switzerland is home to the **CERN**, which, in additional to being a leading particle physics research facility, is a major open research competence center. The **CERN Virtual Research Environment (VRE)**, developed in collaboration with EOSC ESCAPE, provides integrated data access, authentication and authorization (AAI), distributed data management, workflow execution, and interactive interfaces.

Swiss **Open Research Data (ORD)** initiative within ETH and swissuniversities domains supported a variety of projects enhancing open data practices, workflow systems, and publication platforms.

Swiss institutions are deeply involved in major European Projects, in particular within EOSC. UNIGE, EPFL are co-leading **ACME** (Astrophysics Centre for Multimessenger studies in Europe) EOSC project, which provides open transnational access to world-class research infrastructures covering gravitational waves, gamma rays, X-rays, neutrinos, cosmic rays, and radio observations.

The **MMODA** (Multi-Messenger Online Data Analysis) platform collaborates closely with the **Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC)** to provide open web-based analysis tools enabling access publication-ready research artifacts for tens of astronomical telescopes.

Through the **EuroScienceGateway** project, Swiss teams have extended interdisciplinary **Galaxy** platform for astronomy. These developments provide sustainable, FAIR-compliant interfaces to astronomical data archives.

Together, these initiatives exemplify Switzerland's commitment to open science, offering researchers accessible, interoperable tools that bridge traditional disciplinary boundaries and accelerate discovery in fundamental physics.
